TUCSON - The Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona awarded six young women with the Gold Award, the organizations highest and most prestigious achievement.
"The Gold Award recipients are part of an elite group of women who embody community leadership whose Girl Scouting work leaves a sustainable legacy," said Debbie Rich, Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona CEO. "I am so proud of our Gold Award Girl Scouts. The highest awards challenge girls of all ages to take action in the community by developing projects that incorporate discovering, connecting and taking action to create community change."
The following Gold awardees: Brianna Robillard, Jadzia Caparulo, Meredith Burgess, Mariah Weidner and Erika Yee, fulfilled certain requirements to receive the award. They also completed 80 hours minimum of steps for their Take Action projects.
The awards were given out Thursday.
