TUCSON - From Summer to October in a matter of days.
High pressure responsible for the late heat wave retreats into Mexico today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. The result for southern Arizona: high temps that will range from the upper 90's this afternoon to the low 90's Sunday and Monday. Ample sunshine is in the forecast through the weekend, accompanied by some wispy cirrus clouds.
The cool-down continues early next week, courtesy of a stalled out storm system over southern California. An increase in clouds and winds starts Tuesday lingering into the middle of next week. Daytime highs for Tucson should drop to the 80's, which is average for mid-October.
Overnight lows the next several nights will be in the 60's for the metro area.
