Gov. Jan Brewer thinks Arias is guilty

PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has weighed in on the Jodi Arias murder trial as a Phoenix jury deliberates the fate of the Northern California woman charged with killing her lover.

Brewer told reporters after an unrelated press event Tuesday that she believes Arias is guilty. She sidestepped a question about whether she believes the one-time waitress is guilty of manslaughter, second-degree murder or first-degree murder.

The governor said, "I don't have all the information, but I think she's guilty."

If Arias is convicted of first-degree murder she could be sentenced to death and a future governor could decide if her sentence should be commuted.

The 32-year-old is charged with killing Travis Alexander at his suburban Phoenix home in 2008.

He was shot in the head and stabbed nearly 30 times.
