Gusty winds east today, threatening 90 by week's end

TUCSON - A sunsational April afternoon in store for the Old Pueblo.

Expect sunny skies and highs in the upper 70's to low 80's across the metro today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. An upper level disturbance tracking across the Four Corners cranks up the winds east of Tucson this afternoon. Places like Sierra Vista, Willcox and Safford could see west winds gust up to 20 MPH.

High pressure emerges from the West Coast later this week, providing high temps 9-11 degrees above average. Tucson hits the upper 80's Thursday and Friday, with low 90's possible west of the metro. Increased cloud cover and gusty winds return to the forecast early next week.
