Gusty winds, high fire danger to wrap the work week

TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for portions of Cochise, Graham and Greenlee Counties from 11 AM until 7 PM today. This includes Douglas, Willcox, Safford & Clifton.

A cold front grazing northern Arizona develops 15-25 MPH west winds today, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Under sunny skies, high temps reach the 100's for the 33rd time this year in Tucson. Winds ease off after sunset this evening.

High pressure moves over the area this weekend and early next week, bringing big heat. Tuesday afternoon sees Tucson reach the 106-109° range under partly cloudy skies. By the middle to latter portion of next week, high pressure anchors over the Four Corners, drawing in moisture from the south. Isolated valley storms are possible Wednesday and Thursday.
