TUCSON - Two rounds of gusty winds, the first of which arrives today.
A cold front passing north of the state cranks southwest winds up to 25 MPH by lunchtime, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Daytime highs reach the low 90's in Tucson under mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Winds ease up after sunset this evening.
While the odds are slim, localized blowing dust can't be ruled out along I-10 near Picacho Peak today.
Breezes remain elevated tomorrow, especially east of Tucson. Portions of Cochise, Graham and Greenlee Counties are under a Fire Weather Watch from 1 PM until 8 PM Wednesday.
Models hint at a second storm system arriving this weekend, serving to crank up the winds again & possibly touch off a few mountain showers Saturday.
