SAN LUIS, AZ - A Mexican national was arrested yesterday at the Port of San Luis after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered 1041 pounds of marijuana co-mingled within a shipment of scrap aluminum.
After the 44-year-old man was referred for a secondary inspection of a Peterbilt tractor trailer, officers found 44 packages filled with marijuana worth nearly $469,000.
The drugs and vehicle were seized. The subject was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
