Hard Freeze Warnings continue tonight

TUCSON - One frigid morning down, three more to go.

Metro Tucson and points west are under a Hard Freeze Warning from tonight until Tuesday morning, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. After high temps peak in the 40's, overnight lows plummet to the 20's under clear skies. Sunday morning will be coldest morning of the next few, with upper teens/low 20's metro-wide. Sunday's record low is 21 degrees set in 1963, which is a degree or two colder than the forecast lows overnight.

This is a dangerous cold snap. Please protect pets, pipes & plants. Make sure friends and loved ones have a warm place to stay during the nighttime hours.

A warming trend ensues late next week, thanks to high pressure building over the West Coast. By Thursday, daytime highs return to the mid 60's under sunny skies. Overnight lows moderate as well with mid to upper 30's across Tucson.
