WASHINGTON, D.C - With only three days left to enroll, the health care site briefly shut down.
The Health care sign-up website was taken down momentarily on Friday, said the Obama administration.
Technicians took HealthCare.gov down for about 20 minutes to fix a logins issue, said Aaron Albright, Health and Human Services spokesman.
Consumers saw a message that said the site was receiving numerous visitors while they were directed to a virtual waiting room until service returned.
Recently, the site received about 1.5 million visits daily. The last day to sign up for sponsored private health insurance under Obama's health care overhaul is Monday.
The government site runs slow compared to health insurance industry peers, according to the latest analysis for The Associated Press by the performance-measurement firm Compuware.
