Heating up for Mother's Day

TUCSON - Above normal temps return on Mother's Day as high pressure builds into the west coast.

Temperatures have been sitting below average for nearly a week now but a forecast high of 93 on Mother's Day kicks off a warming trend. Mostly sunny skies and wind gusts up to about 30mph should wrap up the weekend. For an hour by hour look into Mother's Day check out John Patrick's Weather Blog.

As a ridge of high pressure sets up over Arizona temperatures climb 7-10 degrees above normal for the upcoming week. Our best chance to hit the first 100 degree day of the year will fall between Wednesday and Friday.

If you haven't entered KVOA's Ice Break contest now is the time! Tell us the time and date Tucson hits that first 100 and win big. Get started here. For a little help with your guess check out your True View 4 extended forecast by clicking here.
