High winds close Interstate 40 east of Flagstaff

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - A 33-mile stretch of Interstate 40 east of Flagstaff in northern Arizona is closed in both directions because of strong winds and reduced visibility.

The Department of Transportation says I-40 is closed between Winslow and Twin Arrows.

There's no estimate on when the highway will reopen.

High winds are expected throughout Tuesday from Seligman in northwestern Arizona eastward to the Arizona-New Mexico line.
