TUCSON- A 54-year-old female hiker was rescued near the Starr Pass resort Sunday morning.
Tucson Fire Captain Jeff Langejans says the woman was hiking with a group around 7:15 a.m. when she suffered traumatic injuries.
Responding crews had to hike three miles back to woman, who was being cared for by the people in her group.
A rapid response team was dispacted to prepare the woman for a helicopter rescue. The Tucson Ranger helicopter transported the hiker to UAMC just before 9:30 a.m.
No word on her condition.
