MOUNT LEMMON - It's the most wonderful time of the year atop Mount Lemmon, as the Fall foliage is starting to peak. Here are a few hikes that feature the best Fall colors:
The Mint Spring Trail: This is found in Summerhaven, off Carter Canyon Road. Flanking the trail are shimmering aspens and colorful ferns. Hiker Kari Svab said, "Some spots, the vegetation is over-grown on both sides, but the trail is pretty open".
Not only does the Mint Spring Trail offer the gorgeous Fall colors, but there's also some water. Svab said, "The trail goes down around to a little box where water come out and there's mint growing around there".
Also, be on wildlife watch, as deer like to feed in this area. From trailhead to the spring, it's about a 3 mile round trip hike.

The Aspen Draw Trail: This well-kept trail features a good dose of aspens & maples. Hiker Scott Walden said, "The crisp, clean air and the leaves are starting to change from a yellow to a really pretty gold to an orange when you get to the top".
The trail starts off near the Ski Valley parking lot. Look for a gap in the guard rail along the roadside once you pass the wooden fencing of the ski area. Expect an easy hike that runs over two miles round trip.

Bear Wallow: Found off milepost 22 along Catalina Highway, Bear Wallow is home to a ton of vibrant maples.
There is not an official trail, so the Coronado National Forest advises hikers to use the dirt road that winds through Bear Wallow. You'll still have a great vantage point to take in all of Autumn's beauty.-
