TUCSON - A few quick downpours and gusty winds help a little with record breaking heat.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms rolled through some parts of the Tucson-metro for the third straight day Saturday afternoon. As usual not everyone got in on the action but some parts of the city did see a quick downpour and TIA recorded a 61mph wind gust, according to Meteorologist John Patrick.
Before the showers and winds helped cool us down slightly Tucson was able to reach another record high for the second straight day. Temperatures topped 108* at TIA breaking the previous record of 107* set back in 1992.
Little relief from the heat is forecast to round the weekend with a daytime high near 105*. Another shot at some isolated storms possible for your Sunday afternoon and evening with the main threats being periods of heavy rain and gusty winds.
