TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Pima County Superior Court jury has begun deliberations in the trial of a man accused of fatally shooting another man in a Tucson parking lot.
Juan Carlos Gil is charged with first-degree murder and other crimes in the 2011 killing of Francisco Antonio Gastelo after a University of Arizona football game.
The Arizona Daily Star (http://bit.ly/148DcxZ ) reports that the jury got the case Tuesday after lawyers made closing arguments.
According to testimony, two men approached and shot Gastelo. One then left in a pickup while the other drove away in Gastelo's car, which was later found abandoned.
Prosecutor Julie Sottosanti said evidence against Gil included his DNA on the murder weapon and the truck.
Defense attorney Joel Chorny said the real killer is still on the loose.
