TUCSON - This holiday season Pima County Health Inspectors have there own list they're checking twice, a list with the names of eating establishments they evaluate to make sure they are following guidelines required by the Pima County Health Department.
House Of Cheng, at 5975 W. Western Way Circle, received six critical and five non-critical violations. Diced cooked sausage in a reach in cooler was observed on a cracked and dirty metal plate. Other plates in the same condition were found on a prep table. A metal container holding utensils had food debris in it. A magnetic knife strip had clean and dirty knives hanging from it. Rodent droppings were seen on storage shelves and chew holes were also observed on a wall. The facility was given a Notice Of Violation for rodents and management was instructed to arrange for professional pest control treatment within 10 days. With more than four critical violations, House Of Cheng, was given a "Provisional" rating.
Restaurant's awarded "Excellent" ratings include, Midtown Bar and Grill, at 4915 East Speedway, Carlota's Authentic Mexican Cuisine, at 10420 N. La Canada Dr. and Sabor Tropical, at 1929 E. Grant Rd.
