TUCSON - With less than three weeks to Christmas, the community food bank is critically low on supplies. They're down 2 million pounds of food but a four year-old Tucson girl is stepping up to the holiday plate.
Anna Twilling is one of Kristi's Kids who's "Paying it Forward."
Just a few weeks ago mom was talking about the food bank. Curious, Anna asked how it works.
"And I said, 'Well they collect food and money and then they give it to people who need it,' and she said, 'Could I do that? And I said, 'Yes of course you could!" her mom, Shannon Twilling, explains.
"So I can help people for food they're hungry," says Anna.
Anna even advertised. She made a sign that reads, "Anna's Food Drive. Donate non perishables. Please."
Anna put her sign up on her street and at mom's work.
This is not the first fundraiser for this little pro.
"She's got a huge heart," mom says.
Anna's already sold paintings for the Leukemia Lymphoma society raising $60.
In just a few weeks Anna collected enough food to fill a pickup truck.
"No matter how small, anybody can do something to help," says mom.
