TUCSON - Could this be the last call for 70° highs?
This afternoon will likely go down as the coolest day between now and Fall, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. A departing cold front leaves behind temperatures 10-15° below average for early May. Expect Tucson to reach the mid 70's today under mostly sunny skies.
Winds this afternoon will be much lighter than yesterday, around 10-15 MPH.
High pressure builds off the West Coast heading into Mother's Day weekend, bringing the 90's back to thermometers across Metro Tucson. Looking long range, models are hinting at temps flirting with the mid to upper 90's the middle of next week.
