TUCSON - Storm chances shift eastward today.
A Pacific trough over central Arizona triggers another round of thunderstorms this afternoon, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Areas east of Tucson will see scattered storms today, with isolated hit & miss storms possible in the Tucson metro. Expect storm chances to decrease after sunset this evening.
There's still a flash flood risk, especially east of Tucson. This puts today's Monsoon Prediction Index at 4 out of 10 for the moderate risk of flooding.
Drier air filters in from the west over the next few days, leaving a slight chance of isolated storms tomorrow for Tucson & points west. An umbrella-free weekend is in the cards as Tucson tops out in the mid 90's under mostly sunny skies.
