TUCSON - Most of southern Arizona sees rain over the next 24 hours.
An inverted trough over Sonora interacts with ample Monsoon moisture, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Widespread showers and storms are expected to develop this afternoon, continuing through the evening hours. While the lack of sunshine limits the severe weather threat, locally heavy rain is possible.
Today's forecast high of 90° may be attained if some sun breaks out, but chances are Tucson stays in the 80's.
Scattered storm chances continue Friday and Saturday. Drier air decreases the thunder threat some for the second half of the Labor Day weekend. Triple digit temps reappear the middle of next week.
