TUCSON - Police believe a man was drinking before rear-ending and killing another man early Saturday morning.
Jean Villena-Celis, 21, was charged with second degree murder. He made his initial appearance in court Saturday night. He was released on the conditions that he is not allowed to drink alcohol and must go to couseling. He also may not have any contact with the victim's family. His next court date is June 6.
Police identified the man who died as Juan Lorenzo Avila-Arce, 63.
Villena-Celis collided with Avila-Arce around 2:30 a.m. at Roger Road and Mountain Avenue.
Villena-Celis' family members and attorney were in court Saturday night. They declined to comment on the case.
