SAN LUIS, Ariz. - Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a U.S. Citizen Friday at the Port of San Luis for attempting to smuggle more than a pound of methamphetamine and a quarter pound of heroin into the United States.
Agents say 22-year-old Felipe De Jesus Gomez tried to cross through the pedestrian lane.
A narcotic detection dog alerted officers to Gomez and they found the drugs strapped to his thighs.
The drugs were worth more than $24,000.
Gomez was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
