MARANA - The Marana Police Department gets a financial boost.
The Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety has awarded the department more than $180,000 in grant funding. It'll be used to buy vehicles and equipment, fund overtime and training for officers, provide community education and reduce aggressive driving.
There've been no alcohol or drug related motor vehicle fatalities in Marana since 2008.
The Marana Police Department will unveil a DUI enforcement vehicle and two Victory Police Motorcycles on July 31. The police motorcycles will be the first of their kind in service in the nation and are built in Tucson.
