Massive art installation leading up to TEDx event on campus

TUCSON - The massive 18-foot by 18-foot portrait seen above was recently installed on the grand stairwell at the University of Arizona Student Union Center, leading up to an annual conference of healing technology innovators.

As part of French artist JR's Inside Out Project, thousands of public art installations like these have been installed all over the world. Twenty six-foot portraits are on display at the UA's Union Gallery, according to a news release from the Tucson Social Society.

The upcoming TEDxTucson conference will feature speakers from a variety of fields to discuss healing technologies and ideas that help create innovation around the world, organizers stated.

"TED" or "Technology, Entertainment, Design," is a nonprofit group devoted to "Ideas Worth Spreading," and hosts conferences around the world for innovators, thinkers, and doers to speak about their lives and fields.
