Yavapai County, Ariz. - Just before noon Sunday, 7-year-old Cole Evans was found 1.5 miles from his grandmother's home.

Two Seligman residents who volunteered their time searching, spotted the boy underneath a trailer.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Department says when the volunteers stopped to investigate, the boy came running towards them and both recognized Cole immediately.

Paramedics examined the boy, and no further medical treatment was needed.

He has been reunited with his family at their home.

Detectives are hoping to sort out his path of travel during the last 24 hours and exactly how he survived the 15 degree overnight temperatures.

He apparently had wandered off to explore and got lost.

Cole's parents say they are very appreciative to all the personnel who participated.
