Mixed view of Weiner's possible NY mayor bid

NEW YORK (AP) - A new poll sends mixed signals on former Rep. Anthony Weiner's potential New York City mayoral run. He gets more support than several other Democratic contenders, but half of voters say they wouldn't even entertain casting a ballot for him.

The NBC New York-Marist Poll was released late Tuesday. It shows Weiner getting 15 percent of the vote in a potential Democratic primary, behind 26 percent for City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. Other Democratic candidates got between 2 and 12 percent.

But 50 percent of registered Democrats say they wouldn't consider voting for Weiner, while 46 percent would think about it.

Weiner resigned in 2011 after tweeting a lewd picture of himself and initially claiming his account was hacked.

He ran for mayor in 2005 and considered it in 2009.
