TUCSON - Moisture surge keeping showers an storms chances elevated.
The weekend kicked off with scattered showers and storms across southern Arizona the strongest of which over Cochise and Graham Counties. According to Meteorologist John Patrick, storms will continue into the overnight hours for areas east of the metro with Tucson possibly seeing some leftover showers.
Moisture will continue to stream into the region courtesy of the dying tropical system Lorena. Showers with embedded thunderstorms will be likely Sunday into Monday leading to periods of heavy rain.
Daytime highs over the next several days will be about 5-10 degrees below average in the upper 80s. By midweek storms turn more isolated as moisture starts to thin out over Arizona. During this time highs will jump back up into the mid to upper 90s.
