TUCSON - Scorching heat to start the week, but get those windshield wipers replaced.
High pressure over southern Arizona cranks daytime highs in the 105-108° range this afternoon & tomorrow, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Dry air mixes down from the upper levels of the atmosphere today, essentially shutting down storms chances.
By Wednesday, high pressure begins to retreat toward the Four Corners. This helps draw in moisture from the south, leading to isolated storms east of Tucson Wednesday afternoon. Moisture spreads across all of southeastern Arizona by late week, leading to isolated storms in Tucson.
Best chance for storms looks to be the 4th of July and Saturday. Any storm that develops near I-10 will be capable of producing a dust storm.
