TUCSON - It took a while, but a few storms fired up over Southern Arizona late Wednesday and into the evening hours.
According to Chief Meteorologist Matt Brode, the strongest storms occurred on the West side of Tucson and into Central Pima County.
Storms will continue to wind down late tonight and expect a quiet weather day on Thursday. Storm chances will rise slightly again by Friday and even better chances will arrive by the weekend.
Meanwhile, temperatures will remain well above average for late July peaking a few degrees above 100 degrees each day.
