SAN LUIS, Ariz. (AP) - Federal authorities say they've seized more than 24 pounds of cocaine at the San Luis Port in southern Arizona.
Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the Tucson Field Office say a 45-year-old Yuma man attempting to enter the United States was selected for a secondary inspection of his sedan Monday.
After a detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs and the vehicle was run through an X-ray, officers located 10 packages of cocaine in a non-factory compartment alongside the vehicle frame.
Authorities say the cocaine has a street value of more than $220,000.
The drugs and vehicle were processed for seizure. The man was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
The name of the man wasn't immediately released.
