TUCSON - More than 40 car windows were shot out by vandals, apparently with BB guns, in neighborhoods near Grant and Silverbell over the past two weeks.
Anthony Valencia already had to replace the back window to one of his vehicles once before.
"They're just hitting houses at random at random hours," Valencia told News 4 Tucson.
Like many other residents, Valencia has been targeted multiple times.
"It's gotten to be an extent where where we don't know what else to do with this community and it's happening on the Grant and Silverbell area to over 49 homes in two weeks," Valencia said.
The vandals aren't stealing any valuables from inside the cars, according to residents.
"It looked like somebody just got in our car and bashed the window out because all of the glass was on the floor," said Victoria Torres, whose car was vandalized multiple times -- both during the day and overnight.
"I'm a stay at home mom so I'm here all day with my 4-year-old daughter, so I worry when they get bored with this, what are they going to do next?" Torres said.
Tucson Police Sgt. Pete Dugan told News 4 Tucson that additional patrols will canvass the area.
There was one report of a 2-door red car which was driving close to cars parked along the street. Dugan said the car may possibly be involved.
