TUCSON - Morning storms leave behind flash flooding for Tucson.
An isolated storm developed over Tucson around 4am dumping over an inch of rain for some parts of the metro. Valencia Rd at the Pima Air Museum recorded 1.42" and the intersection of Irvington and Pantano saw 1.22". Even TIA picked up about 0.75" to bring to our monsoon total to 3.14".
A Flash Flood Warning was issued for this heavy morning soaker until 6:15am. You may still run into ponding on the roadways early this morning especially on the south and east sides of town where the heaviest rain came down.
This round of morning storms may delay the start of afternoon development but isolated to scattered storms will once again be possible across Southern Arizona later today. Flash flooding from heavy soaking rains will be the main concern with strong winds a close second.
Ample moisture will remain in place over the next several days to keep this active monsoon pattern around.
