Motorcyclist hit by truck

TUCSON -- A man is dead after an early morning accident on the far, west side.

A call was made to 911 around 5 a.m., Tuesday saying a motorcyclist was under a truck.

The motorcyclist was driving northbound and was wearing a helmet. Authorities don't know why he locked up the brakes, causing the bike to crash. The driver was separated from the bike, which stopped on east side shoulder. The motorcyclist ended up in the southbound lane.

A pick-up driver in that lane saw the headlamp of the motorcycle and later the motorcyclist in road in front of him. The driver of the truck wasn't able to swerve to avoid him, and ran over the body.

The deceased driver has been identified as 56-year-old, Perry P. Rubinelli.
