Multiple accidents along I-10 between Tucson and Benson

Four separate crashes on westbound I-10 at mile post 285 is causing a one mile back-up.

The first accident occurred around 8 a.m., according to the Department of Public Safety.

A Chevrolet pick-up truck lost control and skidded into the median, according to DPS. The driver and only occupant was taken to the hospital with head injuries.

A short time later, a woman driving a Nissan sedan lost control and skidded into the Chevy pick-up truck in the median. Two females in that vehicle were taken to the hospital, a DPS spokesperson said.

The third crash happened after an ADOT worker stopped to help with the first crash, DPS said. The crew member had gotten out of the truck when a Chevy SUV lost control and hit it.

Then, a Buick sedan lost control and skidded into a ditch, came back up, and hit the ADOT truck.

Rincon Valley Fire and DPS are on scene and in the process of clearing the road

Traffic backed up 1 mile and only one lane is open.
