Murder victim remembered at vigil, family seeks justice

TUCSON - The family of a man killed outside a grocery store held a vigil Wednesday evening.

On May 1, Ricky Lomax, 25, was shot multiple times outside the Walmart Neighborhood Market at Grant Road and Alvernon Way. After being shot, he made it into the store entrance where he died. Police have not made any arrests.

His sister, Jessica Pfiffer, was his roommate recently and said they were very close. She said her family is struggling with the loss more than she is.

"They'll cry when they look at a picture. They cry when they think about him," Pfiffer said. "I can't grieve right now there's so much. I'm doing all the planning for the funeral. I want the funeral to be perfect. It has to be perfect. I will cry afterwards when I know at least I gave him a good funeral."

The funeral is Saturday.

Police have only described the possible suspect vehicle as a 4-door passenger car.

Investigators think it might have been gang related. Pfiffer said her brother was not in a gang.

The family hopes anybody with information will call 911 or call and make an anonymous tip to 88-CRIME.
