A follow-up to a case the News 4 Tucson Investigators have been working since before it broke.
It's about a Tucson man who called himself a "liposuction technician."
Gustavo Nuñez is facing charges after the D.E.A., Tucson Police, and South Tucson Police raided a west side business last month.
Investigators say he had been performing liposuction and breast enlargement surgeries - without a medical license.
Nuñez and his co-defendant, Ilda Garcia, appeared for arraignment Friday afternoon, and the News 4 Tucson Investigators were in court, with our cameras rolling.
Nuñez had originally been charged with practicing medicine without a license, and possession of dangerous drugs.
Authorities say he performed the illegal cosmetic surgeries inside a room at a building near Drachman and Oracle roads.
Nuñez and Garcia both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Following their appearance, the News 4 Tucson Investigators caught up with them outside the courthouse. They refused to answer our questions.
Also Friday afternoon, the News 4 Tucson Investigators learned that Nuñez, Garcia, and a third person, are facing more charges, including aggravated assault, conspiracy, and money laundering. The charges were filed by the state Attoney General.
The News 4 Tucson Investigators will continue to follow the latest developments in the case.
