New Year, New You: Healthy Americans

TUCSON - If you're overweight and tired of it, we're getting you some help.

Former biggest loser contestant Jessica Delfs is sharing some tips with us on how to drop the pounds and keep them off for good!

Jessica Delfs says her weight peaked at 385 pounds when she was 23 years old.

She was tired of carrying around the extra weight, and had lap band surgery which helped her lose a hundred pounds.

Then, she became a contestant on last season's Biggest Loser and lost 92 more!

Delfs said, "I did what I could when I was on the show but just because we had a finally date didn't mean that was the end of my journey."

She calls it a journey that will never end and now she wants to help others battling obesity.

Delfs said, "The bottom line is, if you're not ready to fight, your not ready to start your journey because this is something that you need to do for the rest of your life."

Jessica says there are three important components to successfully losing weight and that's diet, exercise, and most importantly, emotion.

Delfs said, "I think the emotion part is the hardest part because I think your learning about yourself, and you're learning about some of those deep things that you don't want to deal with."

She says to reach your goal, you've got to look inside yourself.

Delfs said, "There's no secret, I mean, are you ready or aren't you ready. If I can do it, anyone can do it."
