Online access to the arts in today's Arts & Culture segment

TUCSON - Don't want to miss out on local art openings? Herb Stratford tells us what websites to check for openings and he also has movies opening this weekend in today's arts and culture segment.

As the 2012-2013 performing arts season wraps up, next season's schedules are starting to come into focus. Once again, Tucsonans will be treated with an embarrassment of riches from our excellent local presenters.

From Arizona Opera to the Tucson Symphony to Broadway In Tucson, all of our local performing arts groups are now promoting their next seasons. Look for the details on-line at the addresses on screen. Make sure to also look into our local theatre groups like Invisible theatre and the Rogue theatre for excellent upcoming shows.

Two artists with unique and complementary styles have their work on display at the Temple Gallery at the Temple of Music and Art. Simon Donovan and David Longwell's work is on display through June 4. Donovan, the creator of the famous "snake bridge" over Broadway is also an accomplished artist outside of his public projects, and Longwell is a long-time staff member at the Tucson Museum of Art.

A new exhibit at the Jewish Community Center pairs the work of Lisa Mishler and Lily Rosenberg. The show will be on display through May 13 at the gallery, located at 3800 East River Road.

Now here's a look at this week's new movies:

From acclaimed director Michael Bay comes "Pain And Gain," a new action comedy starring Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie.
Based on the unbelievable true story of a group of personal trainers in 1990s Miami who, in pursuit of the American dream, get caught up in a criminal enterprise that goes horribly wrong.

"Mud" is an adventure about two boys, Ellis and his friend Neckbone, who find a man named Mud hiding out on an island in the Mississippi. Mud describes fantastic scenarios he killed a man in Texas and vengeful bounty hunters are coming to get him. He says he is planning to meet and escape with the love of his life, Juniper, who is waiting for him in town. Skeptical but intrigued, Ellis and Neckbone agree to help him. It isn't long until Mud's visions come true and their small town is besieged by a beautiful girl with a line of bounty hunters in tow.

In "The Big Wedding", to the amusement of their adult children and friends, long divorced couple Don and Ellie Griffin (Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton) are once again forced to play the happy couple for the sake of their adopted son's wedding after his ultra conservative biological mother unexpectedly decides to fly halfway across the world to attend. With all of the wedding guests looking on, the Griffins are hilariously forced to confront their past, present and future - and hopefully avoid killing each other in the process.

With an all-star cast lead by Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro, Susan Sarandon, Robin Williams, Katherine Heigl, and Amanda Seyfried.
