TUCSON - At 9:30 last night, Northwest Fire responded to 1740 West Wetmore to the Flowing Wells Library where a passerby saw smoke coming from the building.
Firefighters responded within three to four minutes and saw the fire and smoke coming from the roof. Northwest Fire used a thermal imaging camera to locate the fire hidden in a wall.
There were 28 firefighters on the scene and it took 35 minutes to put out the fire. The cause is being investigated now, and damage is estimated to be between $4,000 and $6,000.
The library will be closed today.
