Pair arrested in abduction of Amish girls

NEW YORK - Two people were arrested Friday in the abduction of two Amish girls this week in upstate New York, prosecutors told NBC News. Stephen Howells II, 39, and Nicole Vaisey, 25, were taken into custody at a home in the town of Hermon, more than 20 miles from where Delila Miller, 7, and Fannie Miller, 12, were taken from their family's roadside farm stand Wednesday night in Oswegatchie, the St. Lawrence County district attorney's office said. The suspects are charged with first-degree kidnapping and could face of 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
