Phoenix police: Officers kill armed suspect

PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say police shot and killed an armed suspect during a domestic violence call at a condo in downtown Phoenix.

KSAZ-TV reports ( that the shooting occurred around 6:30 p.m. Sunday night.

Police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson says two officers responded to the call and when they got to the door, an individual had a gun.

Thompson says that the officers felt threatened by the weapon and shot the individual.

Investigators say the suspect died at the scene.

None of the officers was hurt.

The station says investigators aren't saying how many times the suspect was shot or if anyone else in the condo was injured. No names were released.
