Police identify Friday night homicide suspect

TUCSON - Police have identified the suspect in the shooting of 16-year-old Britnee Wright.

Jaime Antonio Chavez, 18, is wanted for one count of 2nd-Degree Murder, one count of Aggravated Assault, and one count of Discharging a Firearm at a Non-Residential Structure.

According to police and friends who witnessed the shooting Friday night, Britnee Wright was in a fight at an apartment complex behind Eastpointe High School.

While trying to leave the scene in a car, police said a young white or Hispanic man, believed to be Chavez, started shooting into the car.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jaime Antonio Chavez is encouraged to call 911 or 88-Crime.
