PHOENIX - Authorities say law officers shot and killed two suspects in two separate shootings in Phoenix.
Police spokesman Steve Martos says one of the shootings occurred after a man was spotted in Mesa on Friday night driving a stolen truck.
The Arizona Republic reports, that police followed the vehicle into Phoenix, where the suspect fired at officers who shot back and fatally wounded him. His name hasn't been released.
In the other shooting Friday night, a U.S. Marshals task force was preparing to arrest 27-year-old Joseph Mavis on suspicion of domestic-violence-related aggravated assault.
Martos says Mavis reached for a gun, prompting task force members to eventually shoot and kill the man.
The papers quotes 12 News as reporting that 12 officers are on routine paid leave following the shootings.
