PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police are searching for a 44-year-old man who is suspected of setting his girlfriend on fire after an early morning argument at their home.
Police spokesman Trent Crump says Ivan Rodriguez doused his girlfriend with gasoline and lit her on fire when she returned home at about 5 a.m. Saturday after a night out with a friend. The Arizona Republic reports that other people in the home heard her screaming for help.
Crump says the 42-year-old woman suffered burns on more than 30 percent of her body. He says Rodriguez then fled in a car and is thought to have suffered serious burns on one of his forearms.
Police say he was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray T-shirt, a white baseball cap and white tennis shoes.
