Police release picture of southwest side murder suspect

TUCSON - Tucson Police have released a picture of the man charged with the murder earlier this week of his roommate at a southwest side home.

David Gallagher, 55, is facing one count of second degree murder.

On Wednesday morning, a Constable went to the home in the 1900 block of West Nava to serve the residents with an eviction notice.

The Constable found the front door unlocked. When he went inside, he found 67-year-old William Salamonsen dead.

Investigators say the victm showed obvious signs of trauma and an autopsy confirmed Salamonsen's injuries were consistent with a murder.

Specific details on the evidence at the scene and the cause of death are still being withheld for investigative reasons.
