Police seeking possible witnesses to fatal pedestrian collision

TUCSON - Police are asking the public's help in identifying the driver and/or occupants of a vehicle that was in the area where a fatal pedestrian collision occurred last Friday.

At about 12:03 a.m. on Friday, November 30, Tucson Police responded to reports of a man lying in the middle of the road near Alvernon Way and 27th Street. Officers found 31-year-old Jonathan Emerson, who appeared to have been run over by a vehicle, according to a TPD news release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Traffic Investigations Unit believe that the driver and/or other occupants of a vehicle in the area may be witnesses to the incident, the release states. Detectives would like to speak to the driver and/or occupants to determine if they may be able to provide details regarding the collision.

The vehicle is described by police as a 2005 to 2008 Ford Mustang Convertible, painted light green, with a tan top and a "Pony" package, consisting of Mustang lettering across the doors, wheels as pictured above, a rear spoiler and fog lamps.

Anyone with information about this vehicle or the incident is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
