TUCSON - The majority of the gem shows start this weekend so you'll be seeing plenty of those white tents popping up as exhibitors put out their best items.
The Riverpark Inn is home to the old pueblo gem and mineral show and as the start date gets closer exhibitors get busier.
"The majority of exhibitors that sell here in Tucson... have over a third of their annual income made here at this show. So they bring the best quality products that they have," said the show's general manager Maurice Destouet.
Coming off of a bad economy vendors are hopeful this show will turn big profits.
"The economy is a little bit better, people know where we are at, so I mean I think we will be alright. The local traffic will come through a little better," said David Mclaws at the mineral pavilion.
There is something for everyone, even educational items for kids. There are also some very expensive, very neat fossils, gems and minerals from all over the world.
"Look around, price, shop, compare. Make a decision on what you want. Don't impulse buy and make sure you've gotten the best product you can find," said Destouet.
