Rep. Grijalva signs letter to Obama to relax laws on pot

In a letter sent to President Obama on Wednesday, 20 members of Congress are calling on the administration's declassifying of marijuana as a Schedule I drug.

Rep. Raul Grijalva was one of the members of Congress who signed it.

The letter says "lives and resources are wasted" enforcing "harsh, unrealistic and unfair marijuana laws."

The letter cites Obama's statement about marijuana being no less dangerous than alcohol. The letter says keeping marijuana as a Schedule I drug disregards the laws of states that have legalized marijuana.

The letter says DEA chief James Capra's comments about marijuana legalization being reckless and irresponsible "serves no purpose other than to inflame passions and misinform the public."
