Erika is overjoyed to be back in her home state.

She loves the friendly people of Arizona, the desert and beautiful mountains.

She grew up in Kearny, Arizona, a small mining town, and studied at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, majoring in Mass Communications and Journalism. She also graduated with a degree in Sociology at ASU.

After graduation, she worked in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas at KGBT covering many stories on the border ranging from viewer advocacy stories to immigration and crime.

She has experience as an anchor, weather forecaster, reporter and producer and is bilingual.

Prior to working in television, Erika worked for newspapers in both Pinal County and Maricopa County.

Her passion for journalism started at a young age. She's always been a strong believer in fighting for people's rights and hopes to make a difference in the world with her work.

When you don't see her reporting the latest news, you can find her dancing or reading. She's been dancing since she was 4 years old.
