Ryan Haarer joined the News 4 Tucson team in May of 2012. He couldn't be happier reporting in a city full of interesting news and people.

Growing up in Carlsbad, California, Ryan spent his summers surfing and playing baseball. His nose for news led him to the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.

During his time at ASU, Ryan anchored and reported for NewsWatch. His work there earned him a National Hearst Award and an SPJ Award. He interned at KPHO-TV and KNXV-TV in Phoenix.

When he isn't bringing you the latest news, Ryan likes to hike, watch movies, cook and release stress through Bikram yoga.
